Rookie Marching Band Info
Welcome to the Sting Machine Marching Band!
Here is some important information to help get you started.
The Master Schedule is a comprehensive list of dates for all activities scheduled by the Union County High School Bands. These include, but are not limited to: band camp, after school rehearsals, football games, parades, concerts, competitions, and various other performances.

Our regularly scheduled after school rehearsals are Monday's from 3:45 PM - 5:15 PM and Tuesday/Thursday from 3:45 PM - 6:30 PM. All Sting Machine members are expected to be at every rehearsal.
Marching Band Camp:
STUDENT MUST HAVES

Instrument, instrument accessories, music

Pencils

Light colored, comfortable clothing/athletic wear

Athletic/tennis shoes and socks (change of socks recommended)

Compression shorts

Large water jug
-
Sunscreen
-
Sunglasses

Hat
START TIMES AND END TIMES

The start time for band camp and all rehearsals is not the drop off time. Students should be dropped off at least 15 minutes early. (Early is on time & on time is late).

The end time is when the band stops practicing. Students may not be ready to leave UCHS until 15 minutes after.
HYDRATION AND DIET

Marching band is a physical and demanding activity and it is critical that students maintain a proper diet.

Make sure your student drinks water and/or Gatorade at the end of the day and in the morning before arriving to camp.

Avoid or limit dairy foods during camp

Please make sure your student eats a light breakfast before arriving to camp and has a healthy lunch with them.

Bring a large water jug each day.
EXCERCISE AND CONDITIONING

Students should try to get outside during the summer to get acclimated to the heat.

Marching band and band camp will involve some conditioning such as running, calisthenics, core strengthening exercises, etc. We recommend getting started now!
